High School Sailing Classes

Be part of the team

High School Sailing Team begins practices Wednesday April 13, 2022 and will continue through Saturday May 21, 2022 (the Tier 3 MBYC Tulip Regatta). Practices will be Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 3:30pm until 6:30pm. Regatta schedule TBD and will be announced at the Parent Meeting for all schools on Tuesday, March 29 @ 6:00pm at the Junior Sailing Center at MBYC. Individual schools will have breakout sessions immediately following the whole group meeting to discuss team specific details.

There is likely to be a day of practice each week that will include ONLY those sailors that are varsity. That schedule is TBA and will be announced at the parent meeting on March 29.

On Tuesday, March 29 @ 3:30 pm, we will be getting the 420’s rigged and ready for our season. While it is not mandatory, students’ and parents’ help is greatly appreciated.

It is a requirement that ALL participants in the HS Sailing program have had at least one season of HS sailing OR a minimum of one week successfully completed learn to sail 420 class through the MBJA in the summer.

If you have questions about experience or eligibility, please contact MBJA Director, Marie Mell Colville at marie@mbja.org.
